Aims of the department

  • To motivate, encourage and guide students with quality education in Zoology and Biotechnology.
  • To impart quality education through interactive approach.
  • To motivate students to upgrade their potential through projects, seminars, presentations and discussions.
  • To give them a wide spectrum of latest technology and new branches associated with Biotechnology & Zoology as a subject.
  • 100 percent results with merit positions in the university.
  • Conducts awareness activities and local field trips to various scientific organizations.
  • Provides career counselling and career guidance to the students.
  • The department provides knowledge in technical experimental skill, scientific attitude, creativity and sense of discovery in the field of animal sciences, Ecology, environment, Limnology, cytology, fisheries, Aquaculture and Biotechnology.
  • The department has all the facilities and has a library of 350 books. It also has a book bank which offers free books to the students.
  • The department is well provided with large number of major and minor equipment to perform all the required experiments for the courses.

Research Facilities:-

  • Staff of the Biotechnology and Zoology Department offers Research based Job Oriented Project (JOP) training to UG students and six month dissertation, Internship, training to UG and PG  students of Biotechnology and Zoology with nominal charges.
  • The students are motivated to go in the field of research, by encouraging them for internship, trainings and dissertation further authenticating their work in the form of publication.
  • The faculty also conducts sessions with the students to explain the values for self growth and follow ethics for the betterment of society. Owing to good coordination, knowledge and talents are disseminated through a series of inter disciplinary programmes and activities for the all-round growth of students.

    Highlights of the Department :

    • Department in collaboration with Environmental Cell planted trees in the college campus.
    • Department also organized a science exhibition.
    • Every year department released its annual newsletter entitled “Bioilluminati”.
    • Department  established a “Vermi-Compost and Polythene Biodegradation Pit” in the College premises.
    • Department organized educational tour to get the students closer to the natural environment and habitat of animals.
